Whilst Sustain continues to campaign for a Right to Food, organisations up and down the UK are working hard to provide for and involve communities in need of food support, including asylum seekers. Those seeking asylum in the UK must jump through several hoops to receive support in the UK and are given just £36.95 a week whilst they progress through the asylum system. This leaves them extremely vulnerable to food insecurity. In this webinar experts will discuss the asylum system and the challenges that people living under this condition face in accessing food. We’ll also hear examples from around the UK on how projects are providing culturally appropriate and dignified food support and involving them in project design and delivery.
